My necklace

Beautiful and bright like a diamond reflecting in the sun light,
You are as graceful as a swan could be.
Stirling silver flowers and love hearts glisten in the golden sun,
You are pure as snow will ever be.
As I wear you around my neck I hear you calling my name,
You are a heart of gold, a heart of stone.
A necklace filled with love & sadness,
You bring back all the memories from the past.
When sadness fills your tears,
You make my heart pound as fast as lightning.
When I hold you I feel the warmth of love in the palm of your hand,
A gift from my grandparents with my name engraved on the back.
You are always special to me,
When it was given to me I was surprised.
It’s a charm of luck, how lucky I am,
As I opened the tiny box and looked inside.
You had already filled my heart with joy,
Hopefully I will pass you down on to my grand children.
