You roar like a tiger,
Yet you’re as small as an ant.
Your clay coloured fur
Like a sculpture of sand.
You’re eyes like the poppies in Flanders Field.
You live longer than your children,
You’re The Iron-Man mouse.
Your tiny feet can still hold you up.
You’re insignificant to everyone
But to me you’re forever.
You fall down the pipe
With a gasp and a smile.
You discover new places
The tiny lamp,
That miniature mirror,
And of course
Your little bed
Where you spend your time asleep.
My baby forever
Gone, Never.
