My Sandy Home

I feel the breeze,

It's calm and soothing,

It tickles the back of my neck,

I see a vibrant blue,

It’s sparkling in the simmering sunlight,

Like a  golden goblet,

The scent of the salty air,

Soft and smooth,

Washing over me,

I  hear the splashing of dolphins,

They are playing cheerfully,

In the glossy diamond sea,          

I taste the clear white sand,

Crunchy and rough,

Dry in my mouth

I sense the presence of other beach-dwellers,

Seagulls squawking, fish darting and crabs scuttling,

I’m at home in my paradise,

Home is where the heart is,

My heart is here.
