I sit down
the pen lays on the table
I pick up the pen
Anger, sadness fades away
Now replaced by calm
Transcribing my thoughts
Facts roll off the graphite surface

But
As it increases
in fountain of knowledge
It diminishes
Shrivelling like a person would with age
Throwing it's life before me
Sacrificing itself
to record my knowledge

I will never forget the pen
that gave so much to me.
