My Silver Medal

In the warmth of the cupboard lives my medal
Silver coated without a speck of rust
It rests boldly against the shelf
Shining, although covered in dust
Strong like my father
Quiet and honourable, like my mother
Sweet and sensitive, like my sister
Brave and small, like my dogs
Supportive like my friends and family
It represents my determination
Awarded to me from Coaches
As recognition of my achievements
Playing in the sport I love
I will be proud of it for as long as I live
My medal is strong in heart
Without out, I would be nothing
Keep me going
Encouraging me all the way
I know I am capable of anything
As long as I have my silver medal.
