Her pride and joy gone without a trace
The little girl crying wanting it to be where she’d placed
Her special friend, one she’d had since birth
Had suddenly vanished, like it had left the earth

The teddy bear that once scared the monsters away
Now had to be replaced because she was sobbing all day
The new bear’s fur had a yellow tinge
And that new tennis ball smell that makes you cringe

The bear’s dark yellow nose as small as a thumb nail
Her white christening dress has little roses for detail
Her small round button shaped eyes
Seem as though they’ve said many goodbyes

This bear has been by her side since she lost the first
Sleeping there night by night, even at her worst
Wiping the tears when she was sad
Even when her sister drove her mad

This is the poem about my bear
How much I love her and glad she was always there
