My Trophies

My trophies, shining gold and silver, sit quietly on my desk.
A story and an age behind each one.
The first when I was 4 years old
And my latest at 10, a premier for St George
All the coaches I ever had and all the refs
All the boots and all the balls
All the uniforms of my proud teams
And all the trophies that we’ve won,
Every day I look at them as they bring back memories
of past teammates and friends that I’ve played alongside.
In our quest for gold which we deserved
