From glory to gory
The deep elongated cupboard
Roars with pungent odours
That when opened
Smothers the air
That remains for days
Who knew that once grown
I'd be left behind
Amongst the forgotten
That grew and grew
Each year
To find I’d been replaced
But why
By a pearly white
That fades into a fluoro orange colour
Yet everyone knew
I was the first and should be only
