The leaves were shades of the brightest emerald green

I still had more to learn, still didn’t know

The lies of fall, how winter was so mean

I entered fall alone, watched daisies grow

Now the summer of childhood had passed

Autumn arrived and with it something new

I was a careful girl but I fell fast

But fall was a daydream, nothing was true

Then autumn left and orange turned to white

The blizzard locked me where there was no key

Your wind lashed at my face in every fight

The road was blocked, you wouldn’t let me free

You broke me with that oath of ‘I love you”

But spring is here and I can start anew
