Nature Past The City

The silent swishing of the 

Tall gumtree leaves

Cockatoos haunting the sky with their 

Echoing calls

The croak of the marsh frog by the creek

Thump thump thump 

The echidna tramping toward the sun-streaked horizon

Soon to rest under the million stars that light up the 

Australian night sky
