Nature Poem

Treasure of the sea, colourful and free
Coming in many different shapes and sizes
Used as a shelter, for those running “helter skelter”.
Attractive and charming, caught by the human eye
Running through the bushland, looking ever so grand
The biggest species in their family
Striped in orange and black, not afraid to attack.
Bathing themselves in saliva, only the lucky prey is a survivor
The poacher of the animal world
Used as a form of fun, more-so on days in the sun
People ride them with a board
Trying to catch a big set, but there’s no safety net.
Dumping down on swimmers, the cold gives you shivers.
Can be intimidating when they get bigger
Scanning for its prey, in a stalker way
Flying above us as we snooze through the night
Known for their loud hoot, and sometimes hunters shoot.
Sleeping in the day, doing it their own way.
Watching silently, then snatching their meals away
