Lakes pollute and trees are taken down
All you can see is rivers turning brown
Animals forced to hide and flee
While we watch on in glee

Creating an arena of emptiness and death
Forcing animals to take in their final breath
Making once strong-standing trees fall to the ground
As flowers become hunched forward as if downed

Filling skies with grey, dark smoke
Creating an atmosphere where it's hard not to choke
Corpses from the sea rise up to the shore
Scaring children with all the gore

As flowers become a rarity and trees scarce
Once animals are suffering and nature leaves in big parts
As forests and woodlands have now become empty
And are now just as empty as a cemetery

Only once that has all occurred will we realise
Just what was missing from all our sights
If only we thought before we made nature our foe
Oh, if only before all this we had known
