Garbage pails and scorched glass fragments,

Newspapers crumpled up and scattered on the grass all stagnant,

Pounding nails and uprooting trees,

Is this the environment in which I encounter myself in?

Pesticides and poisons sprayed on our meals,

Cceans filling up with thick oil crude with despairing squeals,

All marine life doomed to a long, cruel death,

“Screw this” I yelled under my breath,

Mills extracting iron and generating yellow gases,

Caustic gases from aeroplane fuels and revolting fragrances,

Weapons of mass devastation tested in remote sites,

And this is the incoming air that’s to sustain life?

It's time to wake up and notice Mother Earth's pain.

Humanity's selfishness is becoming insane.

Her cries will soon turn to sadness in their own eyes,

and man will bring about his own demises.

Someone must be able to do something,

Such as raise consciousness among those in their immediate vicinity.

That if we don't regard the issue at hand out of supinity,

It is our life that is at stake and in infinity of brutality.
