I was peacefully suffocating from my own overgrowth,
My thriving body of life resembled a sprawling and flourishing fortress.
A carpet of my evergreen needles covered the forest floor,
Perfuming with a pungent yet sweet smell to make the human race less cautious.
With the human's presence aware of my worth came danger,
Their hunger wrapped its roots around my throat and choked out any last remnants of my beauty.
Now the crisp breath of my morning yawn is unappreciated,
Exposed sky scrapers are mounted upon land which was once booming with souls serving their duty.
As inhabitants of this land I feel neglected and forgotton,
My name is Mother Nature and I demand and deserve respect.
Your destruction to the precious land I moulded is unforgivable,
The human race is unaware and confused about their actions just like someone learning a foreign dialect.
