Once it served no purpose,
Only there in case it was needed,
Until one day my dear friend picked it up
and pleaded,
She tied it around my pony tail,
It looked like something from the circus,
Offended by my misconception
the pedantic girl spoke of it as if were to be hailed.
I examined the supposed talisman
The spectrum of aquas as the sun shined on it was astonishing,
The glistening white strips reminded me of jasmine.
I ran my hand along the smooth material,
It reminded me of a cat’s coat,
Soft, textured and pleasant,
Much to my friend’s dismay
She said it reminded her of her goat,
As strange as it all was,
The intriguing piece of needless chiffon
Brings me and my friend closer every day.
