Nightcap Oak

As old as human existence this tree is almost 35 million years old,

A one and only light grey moss that is actually from mould.

Good news about this tree is it has poison on its leaves,

This tree is a cold killer, and the forest says thank you and please.

Lines of bark so deep inside, so the insects are protected,

Never know they may have got really honestly rejected.,

For its flowers from mid-October to mid-November.

Then fruit appears in full size in December.

Its flowers are as ugly as a Crow's Foot Grass,

But we all hope that it will never pass.

It grows to around double the human lifespan,

Never has a proper life when it's chopped so it must have a plan.

Has two types of stick it has thick and thin like your hair.

There are people out there who want these trees to be bare.

Gone for a while there just petrified now they are very shy,

Our hope is that it can survive and grow forever high.
