Nostalgia of my childhood,
The locket I hold in my hand,
Secrets engraved in the cracks,
Shiny grey like the shimmer of the moon.
Shall I place a photo inside?
As small as a 20-cent piece,
Oh how it could get lost,
Smooth and shiny,
Image of Humpty Dumpty sitting on wall,
For Humpty Dumpty hadn't had a great fall,
A sacred owl it is; wise and mysterious,
Given as a child, kept for life,
Piece of my heart, piece of my memories,
The secrets I hold within shall only be mine,
If given, I would give to my children,
With centuries of kept secrets it would hold,
For if I lost this object,
My secrets away with it,
Will I ever come to know your secrets?
Within the locket I trust.
