Dulled and brown is mother nature’s blood

Her vein is blocked, waiting to flood

Contained by a great strong wall

She thinks it's not great at all

Bringing life to all around it

But many a soul has drowned within it

Few times she runs free from her strains

Every time it heavily rains

With each surge over the barricade

Life is torn and remade

She yearns for her freedom

But waits, knowing they will learn their lesson

But there will come a day she is held no more

A flood like no other they have seen before

She plays with us as we played with her

Changing things from the way they were

Though water is still not like it once ran

She lives on inside the massive dam.
