Not Our Piano

It was there when we moved in
When I was just a baby
It was out of tune, keys were missing, and it was covered in dust
My sister learnt how to play on it
I tried, and failed
I bashed at the keys in an unorderly fashion
Frustrated at my inability to play
But still the piano stood
It was not our piano
So when we moved house last year
We left the piano behind
It was still out of tune, keys were still missing, but now there was no dust
The piano was left full of love and memories
Ready for the next family
