Nothing happened to the streams

Trees flashed by, blurring into green streaks
Leaves crunch under their feet
Adding to the harmony of the forest
Creating a rhythmical beat.
They took a break further on,
Resting near a lake.
They decided to rest a little longer,
and did not stay awake.
Animals watched them closely,
Visitors in their world
But they weren't hurting anything
So sleeping creatures stayed curled.
All was calm in the forest
No yelling, stomping or screams.
Trees lay undisturbed
and nothing happened to the streams.
It was important to preserve this world,
they had decided.
Nature deserved it anyway,
with all that it had provided.
