We were obsessed

Obsessed with our success

Without thinking of the consequences, that would arise

We fished we burned we mined we dumped, so our wealth and status would rise

And now what is the meaning of wealth when there’s nothing to buy

Our greed drove us insane

And now we neglect the problem we created

Leave it behind for the next generation

To clean up our mess

That isn’t right
