Ode to Spring

The cold winters day passed 
The pure white snow melting with ease
Small baby birds hatched 
Among the bright blooming trees

The sun is starting to hug
As the bloom of cherry blossoms seize 
The birds making a home, all snug
In the evergreen trees

The fragrance that is the very breath of spring
Fills the air and my senses
The wind and flowers sing
Together in harmony with the birds and breeze

Oh spring, your elegant nature is different
The feeling of grass on my legs as I run
Your calming feeling is magnificent 
As I watch the ever-shining sun
