Ode to the Gone

Frogs, birds, many mammals and a worm.

The poor tassie tigers can no longer squirm. 

All extinct, never to return

for now they are living in an urn.

This is what happens when we let our world burn.

We cannot go on like this,

letting innocent animals die.

While we keep living,

and continue to deny.

So many lost and we only keep losing,

let's stop this viscous cycle,

time to stop snoozing.
