One and Only Tree

The raging inferno destroyed everything

Now I am the only one left 

I have thoughts drifting through my head

Why am l the only one left?

l am all alone

No friends

No one to talk to

l remember the day of the fire

The flames danced in the wind

My heart was drum rolling

What will happen?

Now after the fire

l alone stand

ln the burned forest floor

I am the only one here

I am the one and only survivor

I wait for new friends to rise

Days pass, seasons change

Every day l wait for new friends, until...

One day new friends rise

Again we are all one happy family
