One Small Tree

My thighs are aching so badly
It feels like rocks are being thrown at me
Finally, I reach the top of the mountain
When I look around, I see a tree
But not any tree
A cherry tree
On it was the last cherry of the season
I ran but my thighs were still aching
I slowed down
But wanted to go Faster
FASTER
FASTER
I was finally standing under the tree
Reached up and picked the cherry
I sat down and began to relax
And started to eat it
It was perfectly sweet
The sun was beginning to set
And the coolness of the night was quickly coming
Time for me to go back home
