Outback Wonders

They say there is nothing out here for miles,
Nothing but a cracked compact gasping for nourishment.
Unbeknownst to the outside world,
Delicate harbingers of life run madly.
Hidden deep amongst nature’s scarlet canvas,
Lay a plethora of alluring creatures.
Catch a glimpse of the palette of deep green
Wind its armour up before planting expiration kisses.
Take note of the crisp eucalyptus leaves,
Falling, dancing, sweeping.
Watch the muscular fighters of this isolated habitat,
Searching, protecting, leaping.
Pardon the occasional flashes of urbanity that you may stumble upon
And submerge yourself into the serene clutches of the outback.
When at peace with the faint air and calls of dreamy fauna,
Appreciate the “nothing”.
