When the rain starts to come and the sun seems to never fall asleep,
We know that the fish will be coming to the bay,
And the eels will head further down the river,
The vibrant yellows bloom and flourish,
Lighting up the thicket,

We sweat in the rain as the sun beats down,
And we now know to fish in the bays and the base of the river,
We know to prepare for fires and floods in the coming seasons,
In this system of thousands of years,
We live and we thrive,
And we can all feel alive.
