Play, play the music
Pause, pause the world
The world around me, the atmosphere was empty
Beats danced rigorously through the flowing notes
Rhythm sang through the mic

The voices whispered in my head,
Taken somewhere else, somewhere happy
The world around her was gone
Sad, but settled, she felt loved

A hug from microphone, tempo, tunes and tone
The silence as loud as the music was
They fit, as did Cinderella’s glass slipper
Life was tangled, so were the earphones
But she knew she could always pause or play
