Peace in the forest

The trees staggered and flowed, the roots dug into the ground as if they were hunting for treasure, the breeze rested on my shoulders.
The peace was not intimidating, but the awful loneliness was.
Weeds combined into irregular shapes, such that they transformed every few seconds.
My bright blue shoes had gone maroon like I had stomped aggressively in a pile of thick filthy mud.
A waterfall of tears dripped down my dirty face…
