Perhaps it could've been different

Fire danced among the trees

It takes their lives with simple ease

Here and there 

There is despair

All is lost for now

Bleached outbacks leave hopeless creatures

The forest loses its magnificent features 

It all seemed to be drowned in ash

No one hearing the water splash

When will it all end

Maybe the choices we made were wrong 

Will the forest last for long?

Maybe we could’ve saved the creatures

And all the forest's perfected features

Perhaps it could’ve been different.
