Pine Tree on the Beach

Fresh, green grass
Soft, pale sand
Shimmering water like melted glass
A tall, sloping hill where I forever stand
The ocean shimmers like a diamond in the sun
At the beach, everyone has so much fun
The waves crash against the sharp, grey rocks
Sending an eruption of white spray
A long, stretching line so far away
It separates the pale blue sky and turquoise sea
Bursts of red and gold at the end of each day
Then a veil of inky blackness over the world
Now, the days are long and hot
People laugh and talk a lot
Children splash and jump
Joy is spread like a ripple of laughter amongst friends
The once endless blue sea
Is scattered with humans swimming
Like my pine needles on the ground
Beauty and love all around
