The raging fires,
fingers of fierce flame,
licking its burnt, charcoal lips,
Poor koala.
The grey furball, cowering in fear
The impending danger, far and near,
The koala climbs down the tree, trying to escape,
Poor koala
The trees burnt, black and gloomy,
The fire's roar distant
Long spindly branches, reaching out - habitat gone,
Poor Koala
Rescue centres - heroes on wheels,
Helps koala recover,
Friendship, family, forever,
Koala.
