The trees tower,

Protection they offer.

Their songs and whines cry out,

But underneath their branches is a sanctuary.

Light and dark,

In harmony.

The peace is resounding,

Echoing between spindly branches.

A home for all,

Big and small,

Strong and weak,

Bright and dull,

You are yourself.

Bare bark shows vulnerability,

Ageing beautifully.

With open arms,

Protection they offer.
