tufted grasses scattered across undulating plains
masterful hide and seekers on a mission
finding abandoned burrows, a safe place, home
wibble wobble wibble
a flash of white and brown stripes
wibble wobble wibble
skittering across dry muddy cracks
wibble wobble wibble
that splinter like lightning through the night sky
hidden, undisturbed, covered in scales
quiet, listening but with no ears, watching
