Rose Tree

Rose petals flying everywhere.
The wind whispering in my ear
The rose bush just sitting so idle,
something about thorny withering stems, begging for my attention,
The rose bush is dark like charcoal,
It seems scary
What do you want? I whisper to it
I want you to listen to me, my leaves are withering
Then it goes silent
The bush is dying because of my negligence
I whisper back,
I’m sorry
It doesn’t reply
The sky dimmed from a bright sky blue to a dark discouraging navy blue
I go and get a watering can and water the rose bush hoping it will come back
It doesn’t, just have hope
Please, please come back
Giving up I slowly make my way back into my house
At dawn, I wake up to find a luscious green tree,
elegant rose flowers demanding attention, thank goodness it is saved
