The whooshing sound of water

winds through the barriers of damp rock,

as the dancing waves leap to the air

with a will to reach the crystal clear sky.

The pearly, sapphire shade of blue

racing downstream like a sliding serpent

twinkling in the faint streak of sunshine,

eagerly awaiting the blanket of warmth.

As the sun emerges through the emerald canopy

light flitting in and out of the sunlit trees,

the rushing water feels relief at last

so warm,

so pleasant,

so pleasurable.

The water goes on to reach its destination,

a spring on the other side of the river

where it becomes a refreshing sip

for the next passerby.
