Save the Numbats

I am brown with white stripes
And if you get too close I might bite
I have a long pointy nose
With sharp claws on my toes
Termites won’t last a minute
I will eat my limit
I will find my way
To a termite a mile away
I live among the eucalyptus trees
I can run to my friends with ease
Although there aren’t ten of me in each tree
I still live life with glee
If only those wild cats
Could focus on the rats
I could live my way
If wild cats could stay away
You can see me in the day
But at night I’ll go away
I’ll be hiding from a cat
I am a Numbat
