Sea Salt

You can’t breathe
You just hold on to the air that’s left
You stare at what’s below;
a beauty.
A crystalline, clear ocean.
Filled with mysteries and histories
Sharks and whales. Sand and sea.
“I’m too scared to open my eyes”
My brain is forcing me not to.
What can the water do to you?
Turtles and fish. Coral and crab.
The earth shaped around us.
Light white quiet landscapes
are what bring us together.
The air trying to speak to us. But it can’t.
Air like water.
Air keeps us alive, oceans are our beauty, oceans are like keeping our bones together.
Waves curl beneath us, whilst we reach for air. Fresh air rushes through our nostrils, and water drips down our bodies.
