Dwelling in the forest wild

Where giant trees pierce the sky

A beauty spot where nature smiled

A fitting place to live and die

Our fundamental origins

Immeasurable worth

Beautiful by default

Born of the earth

We abuse and destroy it

Despite all it gives

But nature is powerful

Around us it lives.

One leaf in particular caught my eye

One day in autumn as I was walking by

It was just the one I was looking for

Lying on the earthy floor

Crimson in colour amongst golden brown

Winds blowing lightly tumbling it around

Chasing after I hurried with delight

But the wind soon blew it out of sight.
