A cat’s life is perfect

A shadow among the trees.

Running, hunting, climbing

Doing as they please.

Until the massive cars

That ate the entire forest.

Seeking, eating, gulping

The shadow flees its nest.

Starving in the village

Something leaps out of the trash

Fighting, clawing, stumbling

Onto a path as black as ash.

Cars dash toward the shadow

Flailing there helplessly

Going, going, gone

Nothing more than a memory...
