short-sighted

We think ourselves superior, 
that we're really great
but on the inside we're no more evolved
than when we were an ape.
We think ourselves superior
but really we're short-sighted,
we don't care about the planet,
we knew the fire ignited.
We don't appreciate the rivers we clog,
nor the trees we fell,
if we truly cared about the environment.
it'd be better if we were never there at all.
