Silence

The water is smooth, still and cold.

Shhh the water rushes.

The cerulean sky possesses its orange colour,

It’s getting closer to home time.

As I splashed around, my phone chimed.

It’s time for my journey home back where I belong.

I started my hike when I heard a rumble,

Then my stomach began to grumble.

The serious screaming caught my ears.

When I looked up, I spotted my school peers.

Grumble!

It was between my hunger or my classmates!

They dropped down the waterfall as fast as a lightning bolt.

I needed to choose my friends over my hunger...

SPLASH!

We all survived.

The lake is still steady and calm.

It’s peaceful now.

Silence.
