Silent Streams, Silent Screams

You walk out of school with a frown on your face,
You want to feel happiness, but alas, not a trace,
Once you get home, you lie in your bed,
You don’t realise it yet, but you're hanging by a thread…
You walk to the beach, it calms your mind,
But the rubbish is bad, it’s all you find,
Piles of trash lie along the shore,
Our work on this earth is extremely poor.
You gaze at the water, contaminated with waste,
Don’t you know that our ocean cannot be replaced?
Your eyes shed a tear,
But you want to look tough, so you show no fear…
You can’t let anyone know how you feel,
You're scared to say it, but you just need time to heal…
Seeing these things happen to our earth,
Makes you realise what you’re really worth,
If you pick up a piece of rubbish or two
That can slowly help make our earth feel brand new,
Now each morning you walk to school with a smile,
You slowly realise that being on this earth is worthwhile.
