Sinabadan, The Pride of the Philippines

I spy a gun in the hand of a poacher
I try to soar higher into the sky
And use the sun
A bullet explodes through me
Before I see the smoke whirl from the barrel
I plummet to the ground into the mud
Blood gushing from my wing
Like my heart is leaving my body
Feathers messed up when I am found
Ants marching my way
Trees stand around me indifferently
Things go foggy
Then some dark screaming shadows appear
I slip into something
After I take a rocking car and suddenly I fall asleep
When I wake up
I become a dead Egyptian Pharaoh
I cannot move, cannot see with my right eye
But I am still alive
