Frozen
The smell of the earthy mud
And the salty sea surround us
She lies there
Waiting
She is like a ferocious beast
She is a gentle and caring mother
She hisses
A warning
We shuffle around slowly
Careful not to wake the beast
Her red belly twitches with anticipation
Leave me
Let me be
You've done enough
We leave her
We let her be
That was enough
