Sonnet of Loss

As you lay, eyes twinkling, staring out.
Through the black window of the pain I wish
Upon you. I had trust you without a doubt.
But in return, my love you demolish.
I curse you with all that you have left me,
If, after your ruthless scavenging is
There anything left. You shall never see
My grief. Nor my heart shall you ever seize.
So I wish upon you grief and your tears
I long to see. Making tracks down your face,
Marring your skin. I long to see the leers,
Of public eyes. My closure to the case.
Yet I know you still hold me, a captive.
My heart in your hands as long as I live.
