The whirling wind whistles and whips through the trees

The colourful sky is a never-ending abyss

Serene birds softly sing melodies

The chirping crickets faintly hiss

But then, the drenching downpour arrives, unannounced

Dispersed dust turns to persistent puddles

Lightning maniacally cackles

The endless sky turns to a depressing grey

As doom mysteriously crowds the air

The relentless rain pelts the earth, hastily

The booming thunder begins to growl

Bewildered birds hurriedly scatter

After the heavy deluge,

Petrichor permeates the gentle zephyr

The shattering shower ceases, but the debris and damage remained

The flooded soil is an endless pool

A radiant rainbow fills the once-empty, melancholy sky

Clasped clouds depart like a kite, drifting slowly

The moist earth welcomes the sun and starts to dry

The beaming sunshine is a warm embrace, wrapping the horizon in golden light
