Taming the Ocean

The sea waves churn
Whisper and swim
The deeper you go, the more it gets dim
And it invades, fills earth to the brim
At the poles, crystallizing hard like an urn
There is so much we still haven’t learned
Humpback and blue! The wild whales’ roar
Shaking the ocean and the seafloor
Coral on that same seabed
Hardens in colours, blue, green, red
And the gulls swoop down to catch a treat
Fighting for fish, a wild chaos of cheats
Shiver and shake! The open ocean’s cold
With the occasional turtle, truth be told
Ranging from the north to the south
The ocean is huge, no doubt
Tsunamis churning
Tides are turning
Rivers crying into the sea
To tame the ocean, there is no key
