Tarennoidea
By Pippa H
A wet tropical day in the Tiwi island rainforest
And a mysterious tree catches your eye.
A small tree about 5 metres tall
With dark green glossy leaves and round shiny pallets of a lighter green.
Brush your hand against the smooth grey bark,
Understory planting.
Birds and butterflies flutter around the appealing tree,
With showy white flowers.
Delicate round green fruits that can not be eaten!
Only nine rainforest patches left in the Northern Territory
Keep it alive,
For the future generations.
