Tarnished Treasure

Glistening jade, beauty and power,
Once it was broken, repaired in an hour.
Fixed with my love and childhood dreams,
With exact precision, precious by all means.
Its scars remain and the stories they tell,
My dearest possession, I would never sell.
It still belongs, carefully placed,
In the glass in my room, professionally cased.
Rearing up high, legs thrashing the air,
Though it’s only plastic, I’ll always care.
The horse of my dreams, wild and free,
I truly believe it was made for me.
